The Vitra Organic Lounge Chair, designed by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen in 1940, is an early landmark of organic modernism, created for the Museum of Modern Art’s “Organic Design in Home Furnishings” competition in New York.
The chair features a comfortably upholstered, organically shaped laminated seat shell that gently wraps around the body, creating an inviting lounge or reading chair with integrated arms and a medium-height backrest.
