This is the iconic Eames Molded Plywood (LCW) Lounge Chair with a wood base in red.
Hailed by Time as the Best Design of the 20th Century, the LCW (Lounge Chair with wood base, 1946) originated as an experiment in Charles and Ray Eameses’ apartment. They molded plywood using the "Kazam! Machine," which pressed thin sheets of wood veneer against a heated membrane inflated by a bicycle pump. From this experiment emerged one of the world’s most widely recognized and highly coveted chairs.
The LCW boasts a low-slung profile and an expertly crafted molded seat and back, offering comfortable seating. Rubber shock mounts between the back, seat, and frame buffer against jarring movements. This original product is an authentic creation of Herman Miller, Inc. Eames is a licensed trademark of Herman Miller.
Key features:
- Molded five-ply seat and back, with eight-ply legs and back brace
- Rubber shock mounts prevent jarring movements
